Upper house of Lao Cai, also called Holy Tran Tu or Thuong Temple was built in the reign of King Le Hy Tong (year of Chinh Hoa: 1680 - 1705) in the Le dynasty, right on the old "fire signal" hill (now 115) in Mai Linh mountain range with an altitude of 1,200 m above sea level. This is considered a sacred land at the top of the country with charming mountain scenery, just 500 meters from Lao Cai international border gate to the northeast. From the temple location, it is possible to cover the entire Chinese town of Hekou just a small Nam Thi river.
