It is a narrow but bustling pedestrian street in the heart of Taipa village build in the early 19th century. It is known for shops selling almond cakes, phoenix egg rolls, coconut flakes, cherikoff, and peanut candy, such as Choi Heong Yuen (咀香園) and Koi Kei (鉅記). It is also known for its various Portuguese restaurants, including 'O Santos' and 'O Galo'.
