The pass offers a stunning 360-degree panoramic view of the Himalayas mountain range on a clear winter days with snowcapped mountains forming, a majestic backdrop to the tranquility of the 108 chortens known as “Druk Wangyal Chortens” gracing the mountain pass.

The 108 memorial stupas were built in memory of the 108 Bhutanese soldiers who were killed in the 2003 battle against Indian rebels during the first ever operation “Operation all Clear” conducted by the Royal Bhutan Army.

Druk Wangyal Lhakhang (temple), built in honour of the fourth Druk Gyalpo (head of the state of Bhutan), Jigme Singye Wangchuck; the open grounds in its front yard is a venue for the annual Dochula Druk Wangyel Festival.
