Pokfulam, a small village perched on a hillside in the west of Hong Kong Island, is characterized by narrow lanes and alleys twisting through the village, around small traditional buildings and newer structures. 

Pokfulam is a remarkable survivor of Hong Kong's past, a historic village, which has existed since the beginning of the 17th century., farming centre became bustling early hub of colonial industry – Dairy Farm’s milk production – absorbed squatters after 1949, was dwarfed by high-rises but all along has kept its community spirit but it is facing pressure from urban redevelopment plans.
