Hong Kong Travel Central - Pottinger Street 砵甸乍街 (Stone Slabs Street 石板街) (2018 0908)
Address: Pottinger Street, Central, Hong Kong Island
Getting There:
MTR Central Station, exit D2 and walk along Queen's Road Central 皇后大道中
The section from Queen’s Road Central to Hollywood Road is quite steep, so the pavement is covered with stones. The street is paved unevenly by granite stone steps, so people used to call it stone street (Stone Slabs Street ). The Hong Kong government named this street Pottinger Street in 1858 to commemorate the first Hong Kong Governor, Henry Pottinger serving from 1843 to 1844. It is a Grade I historic building.
