The ferry port on Penang Jetty Raja Tun Uda at Weld Quay go to Butterworth / Penang Central port are upgraded waiting room is comfortable, with aircon and plenty of waiting seats so do the ferry itself also air-conditioning. Presently the ferry does not carry vehicle except motor cycle and it’s a cashless ticketing system but you can use your local credit card to pay for the fare.
The old car and pedestrian-mixed iconic double-decker ferries, which were over 40 years old, were retired in 2021.

The new Dutch-designed ferries are small but cabin with air conditional, which carrying passengers and motor cycle, No more vehicle.
