Lam Wah Ee Heritage 南华医院
The idea of setting up a community health care centre in Penang was first mooted by a few Chinese community leaders in 1876 and a fund-raising campaign was subsequently launched. A traditional-style building was completed in 1883 on a plot of land about 10,600 sq. ft. at Muntri Street. This was known as the Lam Wah Ee Hospital.

The lane was where European sailors and soldiers hooked up with local ladies among the bamboo groves. Brothels were then established along Love Lane and another story claims that the rich Chinese merchant kept their mistress by the adjacent road - Muntri Street.

Argus 色藍乳礼拜堂后巷仔
This was a Catholic Eurasian village area, with where the Church of the Assumption was a focal point. Sevral Eurasian families reside in Argus Lane to this day. Name commemorates Penang's first independent newspaper, Pinang Argus published here 1867 – 1873. Malay/Hokkien term 'Serani' is corruption of 'Nazarene', reference to Christians and by extension of Eurasians.
