Distant: 2Km one way

 

Melaka River is mostly concreted, with a pedestrian walkway along each bank and bridge crossing the river.



Tam Kim Seng Bridge 金聲橋 - Close to major tourist attractions in Melaka such as Dutch Square and Bastion Middleburg & Jonker Street Night Market takes places every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Church of St. Francis Xavier - Large Catholic church built in the middle of the 19th Century.


Chan Koon Cheng Bridge - Connects Melaka’s Little India district to its China Town.


Kampung Jawa Bridge 鬼門關


Jambatan Pasar Bridge - Cool and nice food court near the Masjid and a kiddie museum.



Tun Fatimah Riverside Hotel - Plaza with water fountain

Jambatan Hang Tuah - It was nice to have a walk around the bridge at night with beautiful lightings as well as under the bridge

Malaka Monorail & Melaka Monorail Bridge - A monorail system in Malacca City with 3 stations – Tun Ali, Hang Tuah and Hang Jebat. Troubled since its inception in 2010, the monorail has not been operational since the COVID-19 Malaysian movement control order in 2020.

Kampung Morten Bridge


The Kampung Morten settlement - A historically traditional Malay village in Malacca City Centre. It is named after a British land revenue collector during the British Malaya, Frederick Joseph Morten. Morten Village is like a living museum being an old traditional Malay village with houses dating as far back to the 1920s, Currently, it houses more than 100 traditional Malay houses.




Villa Sentosa, a Malay living-history museum depicting life in a wealthy early-20th-century home.

There’s no entry fee but you can donate to the owner. The private museum opens from 9am- 5pm (closed 1pm -2pm) daily and 2.45pm – 5pm on Friday. For more information you can call, Abdul Rahim Haji Hashim (06-2822988) for more information.


Melaka River Cruise - travel by small boats along the Melaka River. This River Cruise will take about 45 minutes which covers the most of villages, churches and historic buildings along the Melaka River. 

There are only two boarding ports now - Melaka River Cruise Jeti Quayside (Melaka River Square Jetty) / Melaka River Cruise Jeti Taman Rempah (Spice Garden Jetty)
