Fascinating place town of Papan. Plenty of tin mining history - Tin mines were established in and around the area in 1877, Papan is the earliest tin frontiers in Kinta. The whole village was neatly kept and the only overgrown shrub was found inside the abandoned buildings.

House of Sybil Kathigasu (Former clinic) - local war hero Sybil Kathigasu, She was a nurse who operated a clinic in the building to aid the Malayan Peoples’ Anti-Japanese Army during World War II. (Temporarily closed)

Istana Bilah in Papan by the Mandailing king Raja Bilah - Was once a large gathering place for the local Mandailing settlement build in 1896.




Kampung Papan Mosque - Built by the Mandailings and considered one of the oldest mosques in the state features a tiered roof and stilts.
