Built in the 1950s, it is an exquisite imitation of ancient ethnic buildings and one of Chongqing's landmark buildings. The dome imitates the Temple of Heaven, which represents the roundness of the sky; the middle imitates the Tiananmen Tower, which represents the harmony of people; and the bottom imitates the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, which represents the place.
