These air-raid shelters, mostly built during the War of
Resistance against Japan, are unique urban memories of Chongqing. The interiors
are typically decorated with elements reminiscent of the 1980s, such as
old-fashioned tables and chairs, black-and-white televisions, old photographs,
and warm-toned lanterns, creating a strong sense of time travel.
